About the Challenge

WICR Inc. — a leading waterproofing and construction contractor — relied on manual spreadsheets to generate project cost estimates. Each quote required manually calculating material quantities, labor hours, slope adjustments, and freight costs across multiple product systems. This was slow, error-prone, and impossible to standardize across their growing team.

As WICR scaled, inconsistent estimates created billing disputes, squeezed margins, and slowed the sales cycle. They needed a centralized, intelligent estimation platform that any team member could use — without needing deep product knowledge to produce an accurate quote.

Our Solution — WICR Estimator Web App

Point5Nyble built a full-stack Angular web application that digitizes and automates the entire estimation workflow. The app is structured around Projects (Estimates), each containing one or more Work Systems with their own cost components.

Core modules delivered:

  • Estimates Dashboard — card-based overview of all active estimates showing real-time total sales cost, metal, slope, system, material, and labor costs at a glance
  • Estimate Builder — tabbed interface (Job Setup / Metal / Slope / Material / Labor) for configuring every cost component with profit margin and overall discount slider
  • Define Relations — admin-configurable formula engine that maps Job Setup fields to material quantities using custom expressions, so changing any dimension auto-updates all related materials instantly
  • Material Prices — per-variant price management with horizontal, vertical, stair, and min labor rates; bulk % change tool to update pricing across all materials in one click
  • Labor & Freight Factors — configurable multipliers that feed into the estimation engine automatically
  • Bulk Update to DB — one-click push of all pending price changes to the live database
